Progressivism
There were a few causes for why Progressivism came into being. One of the
biggest reasons is because of the idea of work and social unions. Just people
banding together to fight something unjust is reason enough alone to start a
movement. There were also other called Muchrackers were journalists who exposed
waste, corruption, and scandals in corporations and the government. Many people
were deeply disturbed by all the corruption they finally realized was happening, the vast majority of the public wanted to
do something to try and stop it and help out whatever cause was trying to get
rid of the mass corruption during the Gilded Age in the early 1900s. The
population in general after they found out about all the secrets and scandals
the government and corporations and businesses were keeping and doing, were
extremely angry and wanted to join unions to protect their own rights so nothing
bad happens to them and their families and help Progressivism
spread.
